S. Lem – Solaris

That is the only god I could imagine believing in, a god whose passion is not a redemption, who saves nothing, fulfills no purpose–a god who simply is.

Having said that, Lem shows in his brilliant  novel the only vision of an alien that I can belive in. It’s something that we have no means to comunicate with, no possibility of dialogue, no idea what its’ needs and goals are. We don’t fear it but I makes us find fear in ourselves, of ourselves.
