‘Junk takes everything and gives nothing but insurance against junk sickness.’
Burroughs did so much for us and he should be appreciated. The guy went to the depths of drug addiction and brought back a detailed, vivid journal. Now we know for sure. Junk sickness is what we never, ever want to come close to. That means of course the hard drugs, heroine and couple of others, as the author only smirks at marihuana. There things we don’t need to experience ourselves and books are irreplaceable as such a valuable source of information. Keep out. Don’t go here. It’s hell and I was there. Signed W. S. B.
In case of misunderstanding: junk sickness is a state of illness when a junky puts down the drug when being physically addicted.
